Nice read and to fill in the gaps, people tend to have forgotten the Storm Troopers, Junior Head Haunter, Scalp Hunters and the rest. the black panthers which my step father was associated with and then myself with the King Cobras, due to going to school as a Marist boy and living in Grey Lynn. My association with the Storm Troopers came when when we moved out to west auckland. The Storm troopers were the biggest gang until the shootings in in Morewa.

I was one of the boys who escaped or jumped out of our windows on that night the taxi driver was murdered and so on and son. fortunately for me I was sent to San Francisco where I went to school for a little while and grew up on the streets there. I did a bit of time in YGC San Fran and arrived back to New Zealand from Samoa with an understanding and street smart that got me far.

The fire bombing of the buses on kyber Pass and the Molotoving of churches in Grey Lynn and in Aotea Square are all the forgotten truths and level New Zealand youth gangs had!

the only difference with us Kiwis to the states was that we would rather front up face to face and do it the warrior styles ha ha, i remember getting marched by the police up queen street to opposing gangs and associates on either side.

The Gangs set up in South Auckland were minor players....The Scalps, Heads and The King Cobras were the main players and consisted mostly of Samoans. We're still going strong even if I am in my late 40's one thing prison does is make you aware of your fitness and health. When I say we're still going I mean we are still here waiting for our call up....time? or when it's needed to pay back the dues from prison.

Believe it or not I've had my own classroom, work with the Police on youth programmes and heal management positions and with all this experience.......the boob side I will always be loyal to because the straights are worse..no remorse or integrity.

Fantastic news. I would love to hear more about the new projects, maybe even lend a hand? Like you say this city is home to more than a single conservative group of rugby fans, and plenty of us would like to feel we have a stake in the environment we live in. It's good to hear arts administration at the council is opening up to this idea.

Fantastic news! It just goes to show what can be achieved when people pull together and stand united in the face of narrow minded bureaucrats and the idiots who do their dirty work for them. Great outcome and thanks for all of your hard work :)

well basically your paying for the entire package, the figures are completely discretionary of certain districts and differ so much. for example a friend got caught pinged with one throw and payed a standard going rate of 400 dollars, someone else caught in a different area for 1 throwup and TWO tags ..a slight increment of fees payable to our great council of the grand total 1700 dollars, so this means on my previous knowledge the throwup is worth 400 plus court costs and now each tag is worth 650 dollars, lol. and kube its true of so many places ,basically inaccessible to the general public places are more frequently getting painted out, then the buffers get bored of painting clean squares they realise that making pieces completely wrecked is the done thing- those wairau tunnels are underground ! according to the STOP campaign, i think places like that are targeted because of the high volume of graffiti there, even if its not in view the idea is name on/name off strategy the claim to antifame. its clearly outlined in the report. personally i think that creates a bigger problem for the authorities as itll just be pushed elsewhere. you understand why tags are temporary, again we see through the agenda of graffiti artists, the powers that be see through the dull tedium of a neutral cityscape lens ,
